Introduction

CADSiteTools is an add-on specially designed to work inside any AutoCAD 2008 to 2012 based product, such as AutoCAD full, Civil3D, Map, Land Desktop, Architecture and others. This add-on is composed of three main modules: Reports, Polygons and Utilities module. These modules can be purchased and activated separately or together.

CADSite Reports module

With this module you can extract and dynamically link entity properties to spreadsheet cells to create from simple to sophisticated hierarchical reports with filtered and sorted groups and subgroups of linked cells. If you modify an entity property (such as line length) the corresponding linked cell value will be dynamically updated. Likewise, if you modify a cell value the corresponding linked entity property will be dynamically updated.

CADSite Reports can also detect spatial relationships between entities to extract data. You can, for example, extract and link information from attributes of blocks located inside closed polylines in a certain layer.

CADSite Reports can import and export Excel© 97-2010 XLSX/XLSM/XLS/XLT file format. Can also import and export text files (TXT) and comma delimited files (CSV), no need to have Excel© installed. Information selected in the spreadsheet can also be inserted in AutoCAD as formatted tables.

Please have a look at the General Overview and Basic Report Example demo videos to have an overall idea of what you can do using the CADSite Reports module.

This module is composed of the following tools:

·         Report Template Editor, where you can create or edit a report template to extract and link drawing information to spreadsheet cells.

·         Run Report, to select an existing report template file to extract drawing information and create a report.

·         Report Template Library, where you can select a predefined report template to open in the Report Template Editor.

·         Open Linked Report Templates, to open all existing report template files linked to the current drawing.

·         Insert table, to open and run an existing table template file and insert the resulting report as a table in the drawing.

·         Edit Linked Table, to select an existing linked table object in drawing and open the Report Viewer where changes can be made to the table's content.

·         Open Table Template Editor, to create or edit a table template than can be used to extract entity information from a drawing to create table entities in AutoCAD.

·         Table Template Library, where you can select a predefined table template to open in the Table Template Editor.

·         Open Linked Table Templates, to open all existing table template files linked to the current drawing.

CADSite Polygons module

This module is designed to draw, edit, annotate and subdivide parcels inside AutoCAD and is comprised of the following tools:

·         Global boundary polygon. With this tool you can create closed polylines from a selection of lines, arcs and/or polylines. This is useful if, for example, you have a parcel subdivision drawn with lines and arcs and you need to create a closed polyline for each subdivision. Instead of drawing each polyline manually with AutoCAD commands, this tool creates them automatically for you.

·         Draw and adjust polygon. This tool is useful if you need to reconstruct a polygon from legal documentation or from surveying information. You can dynamically draw a polygon specifying distance and bearing, azimuth, XY coordinates or angle with previous course. You can import XY coordinate information from an existing text file or import information selecting an existing polyline in the drawing. The polygon error of closure can be adjusted using the Compass or Transit Rule or by the Crandall Method and an Excel compatible Traverse Adjustment Report can be generated. Point numbers are automatically annotated.

·         Change polygon starting point, selecting a closed polyline vertex to set as the new polyline starting point.

·         Insert polygon vertex, by selecting a point on a polyline segment.

·         Delete polygon vertex, by selecting a polyline segment endpoint.

·         Change polygon rotation, to clockwise or counterclockwise direction.

·         Reverse polygon, from clockwise to counterclockwise direction or vice versa.

·         Join polygon, selecting two or more adjacent closed polylines.

·         Divide polygon, by selecting a closed polyline, a slicing line and a subdivision method such as by equal parts, percentage or target subarea, by offsetting the slicing line, or by specifying number of segments or distance along a path.

·         Weed polygon vertices, to remove collinear vertices from polylines specifying a minimum deflection angle.

·         Annotate polygon. Automatically annotate distance and bearing in polyline segments, arc length, chord, radius, tangent and central angle in polyline arc segments. Polyline area and perimeter can also be annotated. Prefix, suffix, decimal places and text settings such as text size, layer, color, style and font can be specified.

·         Annotate angles. Place interior or exterior angular dimensions in each polygon vertex. Layer and color for the dimension line and text can be specified. Style, font and decimal places can be specified for the angular text annotation. Dimension text location and angle can be also specified and the annotation angle command can be automatically repeated when finished to select additional vertices.

·         Invert bearing. Change bearing annotations N,S,E,W to their opposites S,N,W,E respectively, e.g.: S 105°12'32" W to N 105°12'32" E

·         Flip annotation. Rotate selected text annotation 180 degrees by its center point.

·         Swap annotation. Interchange position between two selected text entities.

CADSite Utilities

This module is composed of several useful tools aimed to save time performing some common tasks, such as add areas and lengths selected in the drawing, add numeric values from selected text entities, insert auto incrementing text, measure and convert angles, convert between plotting and drawing units among others.

The following tools are included:

·         Sum of areas, to sequentially add and subtract areas by specifying points inside closed regions, by selecting existing entities or by tracing closed polylines.

·         Sum of lengths, to sequentially add and subtract lengths by specifying points, tracing arcs or by selecting existing entities.

·         Sum numeric text, to add numeric values found in selected text entities. Substring filtering options can be specified.

·         Auto increment text, to create text annotations incrementing a starting numeric value or letter.  Annotation prefix and suffix and text settings can be specified.

·         Angle calculator, to perform angle arithmetic operations and conversions. Angular values can be typed or selected in drawing.

·         Drawing screenshot, to take a screenshot from a selected area in the drawing screen. The resulting image can be as is or converted to black and white or grayscale. Background color can be changed to white. The resulting Image is automatically copied to the Windows Clipboard to paste in any application accepting images.

·         Layout unit conversion, To convert between drawing units and current paper space plotting units.

·         Entity Properties Explorer, to display properties of a selected drawing entity. Entity's dictionary information (XDict) and extended data (XData) can be inspected.
