Sum numeric text

 

 

 

 

 

Purpose:

 

To add numeric values found in selected text entities. Substring filtering options can be specified.

1.      Sample string: Original text from which the numeric substrings will be extracted. You can edit the string in the text box.

2.      Text selector button: Click to set the sample string from a selected text entity in drawing.

3.      Filtered substring: Sample of the substring filtered from the original string after applying string separators and indexes.

4.      Prefix: Type text to be included before numeric text sum.

5.      Suffix: Type text to be appended to numeric text sum.

6.      String separators: Press the add button to add the substring separator typed in the separator text box to the list. Separators in the list will be used to split the original string in substrings.

7.      Leading characters to remove: Specify the number of non numeric characters to remove from the beginning of the substring.

8.      Trailing characters to remove:  Specify the number of non numeric characters to remove from the end of the substring.

9.      Initial substring index: Specify the substring index relative to the splitted substrings list, starting at 0. If theres only one substring the index can only be zero.

10.   Decimal places: Type number of decimal places to round numeric text sum value.

1.      Remove leading spaces: Remove blank spaces at the beginning of the substring.

2.      Remove trailing spaces: Remove blank spaces at the end of the substring.

3.      Place sum annotation in drawing: Check to create sum annotation text and place it in the drawing when finished.

4.      Copy numeric sum value to Windows Clipboard: Check to copy the resulting sum numeric value to the Windows Clipboard. You can then paste the value in any application accepting text input.

5.      Specify text rotation in drawing: Check if text rotation will be specified when the sum annotation is inserted.

6.      Text size: Type text size for total sum of lengths annotation.

7.      Distance selector button: Click to set text size by selecting distance between two points in drawing.

8.      Text rotation: Type default text rotation for total sum of lengths annotation.

9.      Angle selector button: Click to select angle selecting two points in drawing to set text rotation angle.

10.   Units: Check if text size will be in drawing units or in plotting units according to corresponding layout scale.

11.   Annotative: Check if the total sum of lengths annotation height will change when the corresponding layout scale is modified.

12.   Text selector button: Click to set text properties by selecting a text object in drawing. Text size, layer color, style and font will be automatically selected to be the same as the selected text object.

13.   Text settings: Select layer, color style and font for total sum of lengths annotation.

Comments:

 

·         The filtered numeric substring will be extracted from each selected text and will be the only numeric value considered in the sum.

·         If no string separator is specified, a blank space will be the default separator.
