Linked group cell  ranges

 

 

 

 

 

Linked group cell ranges are spreadsheet cells that are copied with each spreadsheet linked group. Cell values, borders, formulas, validation rules, formats and comments can be copied from this linked group to the report, optionally keeping the same row heights and columns widths. Blank cells can be selected also as linked groups to create a gap between rows or columns. The name of the linked group cell range can be edited by selecting the linked group node and then left clicking on it to activate the editing mode.

 

 

1.      Set range address button.   When this button is selected the Report Template Explorer will disappear and the corresponding linked cell range can be selected in the Report Template Editor spreadsheet. Sheet name and range address information in the section above this button will be updated with the selected cell range information.

2.      Range copy options.  Row heights and column widths can be kept in additional copies of the linked group cell range.

3.      Range copy.  The default setting when copying additional linked group cell ranges is to copy all content. You can choose the following range copy options:

 

          

Values:

Unformatted existing cell values will be copied.

Formulas:

Cell formulas and references will be copied, not the resulting value.

Formats:

Cell format applied such as fill color, pattern and borders will be copied.

Borders:

Existing border color, line type and width will be copied.

Validation:

Validation rules defined will be copied.

Comments:

Cell comments will be copied.

How to add a linked group cell range:

 

1.      Right click on the 'Linked group cell ranges' node

2.      Select 'Add linked group cell range' from the context menu.

 

          

3.      Select a range address were the group will be linked. To select a cell range address pick a cell in the Report Template Editor spreadsheet and keeping the left mouse button pressed drag to the range extents.

          

          

4.      Press the OK button in the 'Select range address' dialog box.
