Entity properties

In the 'Entity properties' section is where drawing entity properties are added and linked to spreadsheet cells. Optionally, linked cell ranges that gets copied with each value can be specified. If there's no room for all the cell values, the affected cells will be 'pushed'  down or to the left to make room for the new cells.

1.      Select linked cell address. When this button is selected the Report Template Explorer will disappear and the corresponding cell range can be selected in the Report Template Editor spreadsheet. Sheet name and range address information in the section above this button will be updated with the selected cell range information.

2.      Range fill direction. If the drawing entity property is a list of values, the fill direction can be specified as vertical or horizontal.

5.      Group operation. If the drawing entity property is a list of values, the following group operations can be applied:

None:

No operation applied.

Sum:

Total sum of numeric values.

Count:

Number of elements in the list.

Average:

The total sum divided by the number of elements.

Min:

Minimum value in the list.

Max:

Maximum value in the list.

If the list is not composed of numeric values and the sum, count, average or minimum/value operation is selected, the 'Cell text for null values' will be displayed instead.

If the group operation is successful, the resulting single calculated value will be displayed in the linked cell instead of the list of values.

6.      Cell text for null values. If the drawing entity does not have the property specified or if the group operation applied in the list of values is not successful, the text specified in this section will be displayed in the linked cell instead.

How to add a drawing entity property.

1.      Right click on the 'Entity Properties' node.

2.      Select 'Add entity property from drawing' from the context menu.

3.      Select an entity in the drawing.

4.      Select the required property in the Entity Properties Explorer double clicking in the corresponding row or clicking the 'Select property' button.

5.      Select the cell where the property value will be linked and press the OK button.

It is important to note that the selected entity will not be linked to a cell, only the property name and value type. From each entity in the linked group the property value will be extracted and sent to the linked cell when the report is generated.

Tip:  You can select the 'Add entity property from Explorer' from the context menu to display the properties from the last selected entity in the Entity Properties Explorer. If there's no previous entity selected the drawing selection mode will be activated.
